Making a Header

I have a bit of experience designing flyers for the organizations that I am a part of, so I have played with Photoshop a bit before. However, for my header, I used Canva which is an online website that allows me to design flyers, headers, Instagram posts, etc. The editor allows me to add shapes, copyright-free images, text, etc. Although the editor is not very technical, it is very easy to understand and play around. I have used Canva before and it allows me to change my widths and height for the canvas. I created this flyer because the theme of my website is white and aesthetic. I try to make the flyer simple and not too overwhelming to match the theme. Therefore, I created a header that also has a white background with black text and a few images. I personally added those 3 images because I thought they were really cute and described my personality pretty well. I struggled a bit with the creativity aspect. I do not know much about art and how to make headers look fancy and stand out. Even though I put together the header through text and copyright-free images, I am still unable to tell if it looks okay or not. However, what came naturally to me was using the editor. I was able to figure out how to use it relatively fast by playing around with some of their functions. Since I have made previous flyers and headers before, the editing part was not very difficult for me. I believe that I can use these editing skills for marketing certain products in the future or creating a graph for those who are visual learners. I believe that knowing how to photo edit is a great skill to have especially since many people are more drawn to pictures rather than words.

Hi Angelica, I also was not too sure how to make my header stand out and be creative but I just used pictures I had taken in the past to post. I agree that once we started to play around with the photo design app it was not too difficult since the layout of the editing page is pretty simple and easy to understand.

Hey Angelica! I personally think your header is very cute; I know you said you were struggling with the creativity of it, maybe in the future you could change your header to be your own personal photos of the restaurants you visit, or foods you’re about to try out? Just an idea! 🙂
