Click here to check out my Commercial Audio!
Although I have played around with editing music before, it was only because I had to edit it for a video. I have never used Garageband or Audacity before. Since I own a Mac, I decided to use Garageband and play around with it. It was super confusing as I did now know what a lot of the functions do. My first task was to input the two audio files that I have chosen for my intro and outro into Garageband. I looked all over the program and could not find a way to upload the files into the tracks. I even tried to Google for answers, but was left confused. I ended up just dragging my files into Garageband as I thought that was the easiest option I have. Recording my audio wasn’t an issue since I was able to find the record button at the top of the program. However, when I was trying to figure out how to fade my audio clips, that was the most difficult task for me. I was having a lot of issues with volume since my recording was too quiet, but the audio I found are both super loud. I tried to find ways to fade the audio clips, but I could not find the fade option anywhere. I tried playing around with a lot of the features, but none of it edited the audio clips as I wanted it to. Eventually, I was able to pull up the Master Track and change the volume for all of my audio clips. I was able to maximize my own voice and lower the intro and outro music. Although I did find it quite frustrating at first because I did not think Garageband was very user friendly, I did enjoy this assignment a lot. It was cool hearing my own commercial audio and seeing the results of my work.
I had similar problems with Audacity! I couldn’t figure out how to even add stuff in like you said. But I’m glad we got to make something new and unique.

I actually tried to use GarageBand for a previous project and thought it was a little hard to use so I went with Audacity on this project. I think that making these audio edits require a lot of time playing around with the program, but your commercial turned out great!

Garageband can definitely have a learning curve, but once you get it down I think you would find that it is way more user friendly than Audacity.

Garageband was also really confusing for me, but it was definitely a learning experience. Playing around with the music and audio for so long was rewarding when I finally heard my finished product! Loved your commercial!
